In the fifth main installment of the Metroid series, Metroid Prime is an action-adventure game developed by Nintendo and Retro Studios for the GameCube. Also, the first-ever Metroid game to use 3D computer graphics, which is played from the first-person perspective. The game takes place between the original Metroid and Metroid II: Return of Samus, being the first game of the three-part Prime storyline. 

 

Gameplay

 

The player controls the bounty hunter Samus Aran in a science fiction setting just like all other games in the series. The game follows the main character Samus, where she battles the Space Pirates and their biological tests on planet Tallon IV. 

It is a 3D action-adventure game, including gameplay like solving puzzles to disclose secrets, shooting at enemies with the help of the Lock-on technique, and platform jumping. During the game, the players must find and collect items that would advance Samus's suit and arsenal, including things like weapons, upgrades on Samus's Power Suit, and also the items that give powers.
