It is a multidirectional shooter game released for the SNES by Nintendo. This game is the sequel to the Star Fox released in 1993, and the objective of the game is the same to destroy the Andosss' forces. There is a map with the help of which the player navigates the planet Lylat. The player has to defend Corneria because if it gets destroyed, then the game is over. Andross' massive carriers can spawn groups of fighters and must be taken down by blowing up the core. Planets under the control of Andross can launch missiles at Corneria, and these too must be defeated to keep it safe. The player has to fight Andross' fighter team, Star Wolf, and other enemies. There are options of six characters that the player can choose to play. In the beginning, the player picks the primary pilot and a wingman. There are three different Arwing, and the wingman is chosen randomly. The three craft can transform into Walkers, and the player can pick up additional special items along the way. The exciting part is that the player can swap the wingman. This game is exciting and also serves changes from the previous version. Now the players have more control over the map; they can select the pilots, swap the wingman, and many more.
The game begins when the antagonist Andross returns to the Lylat after his defeat in the original Star Fox. He attacks Corneria with his fleet of battleships and wants to destroy the planet. General Pepper once again asks for help from the Star Fox team. Along with recruits Miyu and Fay, the team goes out to defend Corneria and ultimately defeat Andross. There are six playable characters: Fox McCloud, a fox; Falco Lombardi, the cocky expert pilot; Peppy Hare, a rabbit; Slippy Toad, a frog; Fay, a white dog; and Miyu, a lynx.
