It is a role-playing video game released in 1988 for the Family computer but later remade into several consoles, including SNES. The game revolves around four youngsters who have lost their parents in the army invasion by the Palamecia Empire. The three characters join the rebellion against the Palamecia Empire and go on a mission to destroy the enemies, gain new magic weapons and rescue the resistance members. This game has so many elements that became the regulars to the Final Fantasy franchise, for example, the character of Cid. The game allows the player to choose classes for the characters. They can use any weapons that the player wants to give them and can learn any available spell. So, that means each member can use weapons and spells. The gameplay follows the core of an RPG game and takes the players across a world map to encounter various enemy battles. Players reach several towns and talk to townspeople, purchase weapons, armor, and unique items in these towns. The game is around three decades and still is quite charming and engaging.
The game protagonists Firion, Maria, Guy, and Leon, get attacked by Palamecian Black Knight soldiers. Princess Hilda saves Firion, Maria, and Guy, and they form a rebel base in Altair. They go on a quest to Fynn to look for Leon, and there they meet dying Prince Scott, who is Hilda's fiancé. He tells them that Borgen, a former nobleman, betrayed the rebellion and has joined the Imperial army. The party informs Hilda, and she asks them to find Mythril, a metal that can create powerful weapons. The party goes on the mission, saves the village folks, and attains the metal. As the game progresses, that party successfully reclaims Fynn from the Imperial forces. But the Emperor returns in a demonic form to destroy the world. In the end, they finally defeat the Emperor.
