Donkey Kong Country is a platform game released in 1994 and which is developed by Rare. The game is a reboot of Nintendo's Donkey Kong franchise and follows the gorilla Donkey Kong and also his nephew Diddy Kong. They want to recover their seized banana treasure from King K. Rool and the Kremlings. 

Game Plot

The player defeats enemies and bosses, collects items, finds secrets on their journey to beat King K, all these in 40 side-scrolling levels. The game consists of both single-player mode and multiplayer mode. In the single-player, the player takes control of any one of the characters, the gorilla Donkey or his money nephew Diddy Kong.

Here, Donkey is stronger and can easily defeat his enemies, whereas Diddy is faster and finds items. Interestingly, two players can work together cooperatively or race each other in the multiplayer mode. There are even different modes like Contest mode or Team mode in the multiplayer mode. 

The overworld in the game also grants the players an opportunity to visit other members of the Kong family; Cranky Kong, Funky Kong, and Candy Kong.
