It is an action-adventure game released for PlayStation 2 by THQ. It's the sequel to the Destroy All Humans and the second title in the Destroy All Humans franchise.
The game is set in 1969 and follows Crypto and the Furon Empire's takeover of the American government. Crypto is living the best life as he's the fake president of America. He enjoys his newfound amazing life by partying. But then, Crypto's mother ship and his boss, Pox, get blown to pieces by a Russian-launched missile. As evident, this angers Crypto, and with the use of a hologram that carries Pox's mind, he goes to find out why KGB wants to kill him. From there, the game becomes fascinating as Russian spies, hippy revolutionaries, British secret agents, cosmonauts, and the rival alien race get tangled up in the complete chaos.
Destroy All Humans gives a different and enjoyable gameplay experience. The game's fundamental idea is that the players take the role of Crypto, an intelligent alien, and then suddenly Russians kill his boss, Pox. Now Crypto is full of vengeance and wants to take revenge from the Russians. And thus the player's adventures with Crypto begins. As compared to the previous version, the game has lots of added content in new weapons and objects. Crypto goes to London, Sans Francisco, Siberia, Tokyo and the Russian moon base. The exciting thing is that Crypto can body snatch humans and use them as a disguise. Cool! The players can call their saucer from an empty landing base to remove backtracking. There is a co-op multiplayer mode, so the player can play mini-games, roam together with a friend. A new Free Love feature allows Crypto to briefly force his victims to dance to psychedelic music and make them forget that they saw him. Now that is something! A new ability known as Mind Flash mentally dazes everyone for a short period. There are five new weapons: The Meteor Strike, which fires up to 3 meteors; The Disclocator, which shoots floating purple disks; Gastro, the mother ship's former janitor who shoots at nearby enemies before self-destructing; Anti-Gravity Field, which creates a point of high gravity and the Burrow Beast, which shoots out a giant space worm to crawl around. The game has an arcade feel, which makes it unique. There are also wide-ranging side missions. The game is a fantastic alien spoof that brings in a good quality story with terrific action and just a great bunch of weapons.
