Developed by Konami, this game was launched in 2007, based on a trading card game experience. If you are not already a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh! or haven't played any game of this series, you would find it a little bit difficult to understand this game's overall setup and gameplay. This game has no story mode, which could set some new players off, but to gain some perspective of the game, you can start the game by the tutorial mode itself. This game's tutorial mode consists of many engaging lessons and numerous practice matches that can quickly help you understand the game entirely.
Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship has received average and above-average reviews. Most players criticized the game for its lack of communication mode as players cannot chat with each other during battles which positively set them off. However, the game's tutorial mode was highly appreciated by the players as it provided a detailed view of the game to the new players who were not familiar with this game. Many critics also praised the combat system and graphics used in the game as it overall made the gameplay of the game very engaging.
When you begin this game, you will start with the same number of points as your opponent, which is around 8000 life points. The prime focus of this game is to reduce the number of life points of your opponent to zero so that you can win in a duel. In every duel match, you can quickly line up your monster cards for either your defense or attack, in which you won't lose any points. The most significant thing in this game's gameplay is that you cannot merely play out powerful cards in the game. To do so, you would first need to sacrifice your weaker monster cards to play out powerful monster cards.
Nintendo DS emulator provides highly detailed screen resolution, which is necessary for trading card games such as Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007.
