Cooking Mama (Psyfer), released in the USA in the year 2006, is a cooking simulation-styled minigame collection video game. Office Create developed the game, and Majesco Entertainment published it for the Nintendo DS. The game is the start of the Cooking Mama series, with four main titles and a few spin-offs.
Using the touch screen of the device, the players get a task to cook many meals. The players can use their finger or the stylus to perform a few kitchen tasks such as slicing meat, chopping vegetables, arranging the final dish on the plate, and flipping the pans in style. Here, each task can be performed in less than 10 seconds by completing some minigames. The gameplay is simple as the player advances through a series of many minigames, and there are a total of 96 variety dishes featured in the game. In each minigame, the player gets to do different activities for preparing the meal, such as chopping, mixing, and frying the ingredients provided. When the player finishes each dish, their performance is rated, and according to the final score, the player may get awarded with a gold, bronze, or silver medal.
