It is an action game released for the PlayStation and the Nintendo 64. The game is the sequel to the BattleTanx, where the player takes control of futuristic tanks in a post-apocalyptic world. Players take control of different groups; each has five different types of tanks. The game begins on January 13, 2006, when the evil Queen Cassandra orders her army to kidnap Brandon, Griffin's son, and kill anyone who tries to interfere. Griffin and his army manage to stop the invaders, but Cassandra soon starts to mind-control Griffin's brigade. Griffin and Madison escape from San Francisco and begin their chase to catch Cassandra across the United States. They eventually get to her in Washington. But, Cassandra took Brandon and escapes to the United Kingdom. Griffin and Madison form a new army and chases Cassandra throughout England, Germany, and France. Griffin finally rescues Brandon in Berlin and comes back to San Francisco.
Destruction in Global Assault is pretty cool because of the new explosion effects. As the game takes place in the great cities of the world, the player has to be careful not to blow up Big Ben or the Eifel tower, or they can!! Many tanks make a comeback from the previous game, as well as some new additions too. There's a hover tank that can drive over mines, flamethrower tanks, and even the annihilator class tank. There is no life system; instead, the player operates with a tank bucks system. As the player earns more tank bucks, he/she can afford different kinds of tanks. The gameplay is tied to the variety of tanks and the specific team. The teams have a particular group of tanks and access to certain weapons when they battle. A multiplayer mode allows the player to play in all the maps; some are exclusive to the multiplayer. The places usually are the landmarks in the United States of America or Europe like the White House, Eiffel travel, Route 66, etc. This game is a great game to play and has some improved formula in many ways, such as the tank bucks system, tank design, weapon pick-up procedures, controls, and missions.
