Tecmo Super Bowl, released in the year 1991, is an American football video game developed and published by Tecmo for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The game was released with newly added features such as timeouts to avoid ten-second runoffs, fumbles, the ability to substitute players, five-minute quarters, stat tracking, coin toss, and single-season NFL records.
In the Tecmo Super Bowl, there are 30 different players for each roster. The team also has 11 defensive players who can be either injured or substituted and 17 offensive players. With American standard football rules, there will be 11 players on the field to play along with a Punter and a Kicker on the roster. The game maintains the gameplay from the original game, including the ability to break tackles and no penalties. The games add cutscenes when big play occurs or when there are any injuries. Here the player can even adjust substitute players and offensive players for each NFL team and also for the two Pro Bowl teams. The game has multiple modes, preseason modes, regular mode, and Pro Bowl mode.
