The power pellets allow the player to eat the ghosts. In Super Pac Man, the Super is due to the Pac-man's ability to grow giant and invincible after eating the green super pellet. The enormous Pac can eat the ghosts, chew the locked doors, and get to the fruits and shells. There are specific keys that unlock doors in the maze. In the early levels, the player can plow through the entire maze with four superpower pellets. However, these sessions get shorter in the later levels, and the player has to collect the keys smartly. This game has layers of strategy, such as the player having to keep in mind which gates to open or which paths to follow. The makers altered the gameplay mechanics from the previous game; instead of eating dots, the player has to eat keys to open doors to reach the food. In addition to the power pellets, two super pellets are added, which turn the Pac-man into Super Pac-man. In the Bonus level, the player enters into a maze full of food items, and the Pac-man must eat all of them.
