It is a fighting video game released in 1995 for the arcade by Capcom. The game focuses on heroes and villains who battle each other for the infinity gems. The villain is Thanos, who wants to take over the world with the help of the stones. The game features characters from the classic Marvel Comics and draws similarities from the Capcom previous game X-Men: Children of the Atom. Four characters Wolverine, Psylocke, Juggernaut, and Magneto, returns, and heroes like Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Hulk, and more make their debut. The player can pick up the gems and use them to command, resulting in short-timed power-ups to the character's speed, life, power, etc. Infinity Counters allow the player to turn an opponent's most significant move right back at them, which keeps the action exciting.
In the game, the heroes and villains fight against each other. It aims to use special abilities and attacks to defeat the opponent or have more life at the end of the round. The player builds up a super meter throughout the game to perform the Infinity combo attacks. There are six infinity stones: Power, Time, Space, Reality, Soul, and Mind. The player can earn these stones either by fulfilling the versus mode criteria or obtain them from the opponents in the arcade mode. With these gems' help, the player receives power-ups like health recovery, increased defense or power, additional attacks, etc. Few characters receive extra benefits; for example, Spider-man produces a doppelganger to attack the opponents.
To play this arcade game, you will require a MAME emulator. MAME stands for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. This emulator runs various vintage arcade games smoothly. Some of the best MAME emulators available out there are Advance MAME which runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux; KBMAME emulator performs a quick execution; and DefMAME, which is a brand new emulator.
