Sonic Adventure DX Director's Cut, released in the year 2003, is an action and adventure platform video game under the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series. Sonic Team developed the game, and Sega published it for the GameCube. In this version, there are several changes and exclusive features.
The game's plot occurs when Doctor Robotnik tries a new way to conquer his longtime nemesis Sonic and capture the world. Through his research, he discovers about Chaos's existence—a creature that, thousands of years ago, aided to protect the Chao and also about all-powerful Master Emerald, which matches the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds. Additionally, with Sonic, Knuckles, the only echidna, tries to get the shards of Master Emerald and fix it.
The players control the six anthropomorphic protagonists as they attempt to defeat Doctor Robotnik and his robot troops. They try to take the seven magical Chaos Emeralds and the wicked entity Chaos. Some of the new features added in this version are Metal Sonic, which gets unlocked after obtaining emblems, 60 new missions in mission mode where the player needs to complete tasks in the game's Action Stages and Adventure Fields. The gameplay differences from the original game include the change in Bosses, Egg carrier, Action stages, Chao race, Mystic ruins, and Station square.
