The Legend of Zelda - Link's Awakening comes under the fourth instalment in the Legend of Zelda series and is the first game for a handheld console. It is an action-adventure game which was developed by Nintendo for Game Boy in the year 1993. The Link's Awakening is one of the few Zelda games which does not take place in the land of Hyrule, where most of the Zelda games are located. Additionally, the game does not even feature the Triforce relic or Princess Zelda. Instead of all these, the protagonist Link commences the game on Koholint Island. It is a place safeguarded by a giant whale-like deity called the Wind Fish. 

 

Gameplay

 

While searching for the eight musical instruments, which awakens the sleeping Wind Fish, the player tries to solve puzzles, explore underground dungeons and fight various monsters. Here, dungeons become more extensive and more complex and feature Nightmare boss characters that the player must conquer, taking multiple forms in each dungeon. It gets harder to defeat each time because of this.
