It is a pinball game released in 2003 for the Gameboy advance. There's a catch in the game; it's not only a pinball game, but you also have to catch all 151 Pokémon. There are two pinball machines in the game. One is for Pokémon ruby version, and the other is for Pokémon sapphire version. The aim of the game, as in the most pinball game is to keep the ball alive to score points as many as possible. The other goal revolves around Pokémon tagline: "Gotcha catch 'em all". Players have to catch Pokémon and keep them in Pokedex. Some Pokémons can only be obtained after they are evolved, and this adds a challenge to the game.
It's similar to the traditional pinball games. The two boards have the same layout. The main objective of the game after the player launches the ball, is not to lose it. There is a pair of flippers which hit the ball upwards. When the players hit many objects around the field, the score increases and players gain a new ball. The game has a ball saver; if the ball is lost in the first few rounds, then it returns the ball to the launcher. If the player loses all the balls, the game is over. Another aim of the game is to complete the Pokedex.
There are four modes –
Catch 'em Mode – player hit the silhouette of Pokémon to reveal it and then catches it.
Egg Mode- it is similar to catch 'em mode, but the difference is that the baby Pokémon roam around the board and players must capture it before it returns.
Evolution Mode- to evolve their Pokémon, in this mode, players have to hit the evolution item markers.
Travel Mode- in this mode players can leave the current location and goes around to catch more kinds of Pokémon.
